The Malfunction
Gentle Monster presents “The Malfunction” for their 20th Quantum Project. In this exhibition, media arts group teamVOID creates a one-act robot play where mechanical systems find their own uniqueness while simultaneously becoming a singular object. teamVOID imagines this singularity to be the most natural form of artificial intelligence. In the one-act play, visitors watch the conflict and harmony between two robots: one that has acknowledged itself through an accidental malfunctioning and the other that must perform its original duties. This installation ultimately suggests a new perspective on system malfunctioning and aspires to arouse curiosity.
